After lunch in Fort Augustus – a lunch where we attempted to eat our ham and pea soup (very good) outside but were soon drenched and dashed inside, we headed to Eilean Donne Castle – best known for being the most photographed castle in Scotland.

So, we didn’t go TO it, but to a place where we could take photographs OF it.

You’ll probably recognize it since this castle has made movie appearances in the Master of Ballantrae, The Private Life of Sherlock Holmes, Highlander,Lock Ness, The World is Not Enough, Elizabeth: The Golden Age, Made of Honor, The New Avengers and Oliver’s Travels – including others.

The castle is beautiful.
