Lincoln Memorial

We reached the other end of the mall … and the Lincoln Memorial.

Because I had seen it before and because my knee was telling me not to walk any further, I waited at the bottom of the steps and took pictures … because I knew we now needed to walk across the bridge to Virginia.

And also, being from the land of Lincoln, I have been to his library, his grave, his house, his law office – in addition to visiting his birth place, his wife’s home in Kentucky and just today I was on his highway where I took a picture of one of his highway’s old service stations, but I’m fairly sure he didn’t actually buy gas there.
